Welcome

I grew up on the coast of South Texas. Studied art and received a BA in Studio Art & BFA in Visual Art Studies from  the University of Texas at Austin.

My artwork is a meditative process. Each  work begins  with an underpainting in acrylic on a variety of surfaces that range from wood, textiles, canvas and clay. Next I may add layers of stitching, adhering found objects,  collage elements of fabric and photo transfers. Often ending with more layers of lusciously blended paint to complete my visual narrative. 

I draw influence from my family's journey, stories and life experiences . I believe that our dreams allow us to process our lived experiences with the surreal awareness of energy from our ancestors.  Our energy ebbs and flows  intertwining with contemporary culture.
